Legal and regulatory support

Several entities under incubation need to meet different regulatory requirements to be able to run smoothly. One of the biggest pains for rural-based entities. At GIC we provide the following services through mentorship and training

  1. Business entity registration. This ranges from registering a business name, a company, or a different vehicle that the Incubatees would prefer. The incubatees are taken through the processes of identifying suitable names and taking them through the registration process
  2. Regulatory registration: this ranges from registration such as tax registration, registration with NSSF, and other entities that may be required depending on the nature and form of the entity identified and the business type. It also includes support to file different legal documents such as returns for the entities
  3. Product approvals and certification: where businesses are involved production of a product, we provide support for approvals such as Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and other agencies depending on the product
  4. Trademarks and intellectual property registration; this focuses on the protection of marks, innovations, and other forms of intellectual property developed at the center.
